Southend RCMP charge man following early morning death

Southend RCMP laid second degree murder charges against a man from Southend in connection with a death which in the early morning hours of Aug. 3.

At roughly 4:20 a.m. on Aug. 3 police responded to a call about an unresponsive adult male in Southend. Police attempted to save the man’s life and were assisted by local medical staff who attended.

33-year-old Garrett Morin was later pronounced dead.

Later in the day, at roughly 11:20 a.m. RCMP arrested 34-year-old Bradley Jobb in connection to Morin’s death.

Jobb was brought into custody and charged with second degree murder. He is set to appear in a La Ronge courtroom on Aug. 7.

An RCMP statement said the two men were known to each other and the investigation is ongoing. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, the Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section and the Coroner’s Office are assisting.
