The day after a Stats Canada report revealed a serious increase in gun crime in Saskatchewan, comes news of another such incident for Prince Albert Police.

On Monday morning officers were dispatched to a disturbance on the 600 Block of Seventh Street East where a male suspect had entered a residence and got involved in an altercation with another man. The suspect allegedly threatened him with a handgun, and then left prior to police arrival.

Patrol members found him further along the street, and despite his attempts to flee, he was apprehended on exhibition ground property nearby. Police say a firearm was retrieved in the area where he was arrested.

Damien Carmen Ross, a 30-year-old Prince Albert resident, is charged with multiple offences including: without lawful excuse pointing a firearm at the victim and committing an assault, knowingly uttering a threat to cause death and being at large of his undertaking to keep peace and be of good behavior and breach of probation order.
