UPDATE: RCMP find missing object

RCMP in La Loche said the mysterious object in question has been returned, and thanked the public for their help.

Police in La Loche are looking for an item which appears to have gone missing.

On July 14 a post was shared to social media stating RCMP were looking to locate an item which may have been recovered by the public some 20 kilometers south of La Loche along Highway 155.

Officers at the La Loche detachment said they couldn’t disclose any details about what the item may be, however they said it wasn’t a firearm or anything which could be a threat to public safety. More details could be made available in the coming days.

Police are now offering a $200 reward for the item in question, or any information which leads to its recovery. Anyone with information is asked to contact the La Loche RCMP detachment.
