Woman sleeping in apartment hallway facing meth charges: Police

Jun 1, 2018 | 2:00 PM

Prince Albert police officers arrested a 34-year-old woman on meth charges after she was found sleeping in the hallway of a Branion Dr. apartment building early Friday morning.

Police were called to the apartment building just after 2 a.m., and determined the woman was intoxicated and had nowhere else to go. Officers arrested her for public intoxication, and found a small bag of methamphetamine on her person. After she was taken to police cells, a further search revealed a second, larger bag of methamphetamine, police said, for a total of 30.7 grams.

Allison Ahenakew, of Prince Albert, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. She made her first appearance this morning in a Prince Albert provincial courtroom, and is presumed innocent at this stage.
