Raiders sign latest bantam draft pick

The Prince Albert Raiders have added young right winger Tyson Laventure to their roster.

Laventure, who was selected 31st in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft May 3, has signed a WHL Standard Players Agreement with the Raiders, the team announced Wednesday.

The newly-minted Raider is a product of Lloydminster and played 30 games for OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep, scoring 25 goals and adding 19 assists. He also contributed two goals and five assists in five playoff games.

Recently, Laventure was named to Team Alberta’s provincial camp for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

In a statement announcing the signing, Raiders Director of Player Personnel Ron Gunville described Laventure as a “good-sized right winger who possesses a good shot and good skating ability. He comes from a strong program at OHA Edmonton and is a proven winner.”
