Fire ban across province, most provincial parks lifted

May 26, 2018 | 9:42 AM

The ban on open fires across the province on Crown land south of the Churchill River, including many provincial parks, has been lifted, the Ministry of Environment said Friday, though a number of burning restrictions remain in some parks.

Campfire restrictions remain in place for Saskatchewan Landing, Pike Lake, Blackstrap, Great Blue Heron, Candle Lake, The Battlefords and Narrow Hills provincial parks due to continued dry conditions.

The fire ban for Prince Albert National Park remains in place.

Residents are urged to check with local authorities as some municipalities, regional, and national parks may have burning restrictions in place that fall outside of the provincial ban.
