Update: As of 9:30 p.m., the evacuation order for Crutwell and nearby homes North to Highway 3 has been lifted. However, residents in Crutwell, Holbein and nearby are being asked to remain on standby for the night

Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment said the Rally fire breached the fireguard on its east side. This forced an evacuation order for the hamlet of Crutwell and nearby homes. The blaze was around five kilometres from the hamlet at the time.

The notice was issued Monday shortly before 4 p.m. through the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre.

Crews continue to battle the blaze with support from air tankers, helicopters, and bulldozers.
