Kachur’s Golf Club opens for season

Apr 27, 2018 | 12:00 PM

It took forever for winter to go away, but golfers in the P.A. area can finally dig out their clubs from the garage. Kachur’s Golf Club opens tomorrow.

“The greens look beautiful and we’re good to go,” Owner Patty Kachur told paNOW. ”We thought it was going to be a little later, but Mother Nature has helped out a lot.”

The course will open at 10:30 a.m. Saturday due to a lingering risk of frost, but Kachur said they’ll move to 8 a.m. starts soon. With the spring melt, the river running through the low part of the layout is swollen, but she said everything is looking good.

“The river is about two feet below the bridge between the fifth and sixth holes, but the greens, tees, and fairways, honestly it looks like it’s June,” she said.
