Prince Albert teen takes bronze in international Judo competition

Prince Albert’s Jannessa Keays recently crossed the pond to pick up a bronze medal at an international Judo tournament.

Keays competed in London against others from across the globe, and said there was a bit of an intimidation factor when fighting overseas.

“I was scared at first because I was like ‘well I’ve never fought these girls before,’ but after my first few fights I realized they were just the same as me, and they fought just as hard as me,” Keays said.

The 14-year-old travelled with Team Saskatchewan over the Easter weekend, and said having the company helped her out.
