Stallard inks tryout agreement with Manitoba Moose

Graduating Raider forward Jordy Stallard has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Manitoba Moose, of the American Hockey League.

The Brandon, Man. native was a fifth-round draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2016 and has now been signed by their minor-league affiliate for the remainder of the season. Following last week’s playoff exit, Stallard was unsure of his immediate future but had one goal in mind.

“I think I can say for everyone who’s playing [on the Raiders] now that their dream is to make it to the NHL, and that’s my goal. Hopefully I can make the turn to pro next year and go from there, but there’s a lot of hard work ahead of me,” Stallard said.

The opportunity to turn pro has now arrived, as the sniper will join the playoff-bound Moose in time for their final three regular-season games before the postseason begins.
