Raiders run into red-hot goaltender for second straight game
For the second game in a row, the Prince Albert Raiders ran into some hot goaltending.
Max Paddock made 37 saves on 38 shots on the way to the Regina Pats’ 3-1 victory on Family Day Monday at the Art Hauser Centre. That comes after the Raiders outshot the Brandon Wheat Kings 42-13 on Saturday, but fell 4-3 in Brandon.
“We generated a lot of chances. I had my arms in the air when we had our goalie pulled thinking [Raiders forward Parker] Kelly had scored,” Raiders head coach Marc Habscheid said. “I thought their goaltender was outstanding, much like the guy in Brandon. It’s disappointing, because again I thought we were far the better team and deserved a better fate. But it’s not about moral victories now, it’s about points. We have to find a way to get them.”
With that, the Raiders have one win in their past six games (1-5). They fall to 23-25-9-2 on the season.
