P.A. Chamber welcomes new CEO
The Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce has a new face in their top job.
Kelvin Pankiw took over the role from outgoing CEO Larry Fladager, who had held the position since 2015 before announcing his retirement last month. Pankiw, who was born in Unity, Sask. and has lived in Prince Albert since 2010, described the CEO position as “a perfect fit.” In his first day on the job, the new CEO said he’s excited to bring his diverse business experience to bear as a strong voice for local commerce.
“I have quite a few years’ experience in the mining, financial services, and media sectors,” Pankiw told paNOW. “I received my Masters in Business Administration with a specialty track in leadership last February from the University of Fredericton.”
Pankiw said Prince Albert has a strong business community comprised of experienced, hardworking people. Although the economy may present challenges in the future, Pankiew said he’s confident the Chamber of Commerce can help its members succeed by facilitating workshops and seminars and by helping connect the members facing challenges with those offering solutions.
