Pirates runners up to Rebels at home Bantam AA Tournament

The Prince Albert Venice House Pirates and the Red Deer Bantam AA Rebels entered Sunday’s finals as the only two undefeated teams in the P.A. Bantam AA Tournament.

The Rebels were able to keep that streak with a 6-0 victory over the Pirates Sunday at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Rebels, who have a 13-4-3 record in the Alberta Bantam AAA Hockey League, finished the tournament winning all six of their games.

Pirates Accolades

Two parts of the Pirates’ top line, Gabe Klassen and Logan Cox were presented with tournament First Team All-Star awards before the game.  

Cox finished the tournament tied for first in points with 13, along with four goals, through five games. Klassen ranked sixth with six goals and 10 points in five games.

Looking ahead

The Pirates will return back to league play on Thursday, taking on the Saskatoon Maniacs in Saskatoon, the Estevan TS&M Bruins at the Art Hauser Centre on Saturday and the Saskatoon Stallions in the Bridge City on Dec. 19 before the holiday break. The Pirates are first in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League North Division with a 13-1-1 record.
