Prince Albert police say the driver of a school bus involved in a motor vehicle collision earlier this month was issued a ticket for disobeying a stop sign.

On Nov. 3, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a school bus on the corner of Eighth St. E and Fifth Ave. According to paramedics, 44 students were on the bus operated by Saskatchewan Rivers Public School. The bus was transporting students home from Riverside Public School.

The 59-year-old male driver and an 8-year-old female, 6-year-old male and 11-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital for further care, all with minor injuries. The two occupants of the car were not injured.

Director of Education Robert Bratvold with the division could not speak to many details, but did confirm an internal investigation is still underway.
