Halloween house hands-out over 1,500 treats

Nov 1, 2017 | 12:21 PM

“Every day should be Halloween.”

That’s the feeling of a Prince Albert man who every year turns his family home into a Halloween haven of scary lawn characters and lighting. Dennis Adams’ house is so popular, he and his family distributed chips to no fewer than 1,589 visitors Tuesday night. He based the number on the amount of goodies bought, and what was left over at the end of the night.

The aptly named Adams family was so busy, in fact, they took shifts handing out candy from their 15th Ave. E. home.

“We see kids being kids, families are together and it’s just amazing to see everyone having a good time,” Adams said. “The politeness and the pleasantries that are exchanged it’s just great to see.”

Their home has been a Prince Albert Halloween landmarks not to be missed with the lawn, front door and roof crammed with spooky characters. Some of those he recycles from the Northern Lights Casino and he always tries to ensure he has a new addition each year.

“The 7-foot werewolf was very, very popular this year,” Adams said.

He also received community donations to make sure no one goes away empty handed.

But for the Adams family the night is all about bringing families together.

“It’s great to see parents using their phones to take pictures of their kids instead of taking time away from their kids. It’s just a night when everything aligns.”
