Woman charged with manslaughter in Buffalo Narrows

A Buffalo Narrows woman has been charged with manslaughter.

According to the RCMP, members of the Buffalo Narrows detachment were called to a local residence for reports of an unresponsive female on Sept. 25. When they arrived, police located an injured woman, 56-year-old Lillian Wuttunee, who was taken to hospital. The victim was air-lifted to Saskatoon, but succumbed to her injuries and died Sept. 29.

After an investigation by RCMP, 52-year-old Brenda Laura Tobac, of Buffalo Narrows, was arrested without incident and charged with manslaughter. According to RCMP Tobac will make her next court appearance Nov. 8 in Buffalo Narrows.

The investigation into the death is ongoing, and involves officers from the local detachment, the RCMP Major Crimes Unit North and the Saskatoon General Investigation Section.
