General evacuation order lifted for Pelican Narrows evacuees
The Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has lifted an evacuation order allowing evacuees from the Pelican Narrows wildfires to return home.
Effective today, Chief Peter A Beatty of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has recinded the general evacuation order placed at the end of last month. Due to air quality concerns, the recindment is only for community members and priority three persons.
The evacuation order remains in place for priority one and two persons, or the elderly, children, pregnant women and those with breathing or general health issues.
Evacuees are required to check in at the Senator Allen Bird Memorial Centre, or the Henk Ruys Soccer centre for fuel cards and further instructions.
