P.A. musician to play July 1 Riders game
Prince Albert’s very own Donny Parenteau will be centre stage during the halftime show at the July 1 football game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers at the new Mosaic Stadium.
“My original thought was ‘Ok, well if I’m doing the halftime show and I’m a part of it, who’s the headliner?’ And it came back around and [the man booking me] said, ‘You are. The entire show is you,’” Parenteau said.
Parenteau wouldn’t get into particulars of what the show will entail as organizers don’t want to give anything away. But he did say it feels absolutely amazing to be asked to perform at the game.
After everything was confirmed, Parenteau called his friend and fellow musician Neal McCoy. McCoy told him that just when you think your career is slowing down, something will come out of nowhere and slap you.
