Racers to take their mark for Summit Run

Runners and walkers from across the province will soon descend on Prince Albert.

The 13th annual Summit Run along the Rotary Trail will take place June 17.

Volunteer coordinator Alyssa Orynik, said the run supports one of P.A.’s best assets.

“It’s nice because all of the funds that we raise with the event go towards the maintenance of the Rotary Trail,” Orynik said.

She said the event is strictly for fun and open to all ages and fitness levels. The run features 2K, 5K and 10K events on the Rotary Trail along the riverbank. There will also be a half-marathon.

Last year’s Summit Run saw 472 people participate ranging in age from 10-days-old to 80-years-old. Orynik is expecting somewhere between 400 to 500 this year.

Registration for the run is open until June 16.
