Black bear scare neutralized in Saskatoon

May 30, 2017 | 8:12 AM

Saskatoon had an unwanted visitor early Tuesday.

Police were called just after 5 a.m. to the 2900 block of Miners Avenue where a black bear had climbed up a tree.

Officers secured the area until personnel from Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management (SERM) arrived.

SERM officers then shot the animal with a tranquilizer dart, causing the bear to fall from the tree after a few moments.
