Bryan Adams to rock Mosaic Stadium at venue’s first concert

Apr 4, 2017 | 12:29 PM

Regina Rocks Mosaic Stadium has been announced as the second test event and first concert at the new stadium ahead of its official opening this summer.

Bryan Adams will headline the May 27 concert, which also features Our Lady Peace and Johnny Reid.

“Bryan Adams has played some of the biggest and best stadiums in the world and we are thrilled that he will give us an amazing show and play a big role in helping us tune-up our concert stage before we officially open new Mosaic Stadium on Canada Day,” said Regina Mayor Michael Fougere.

The concert is one of three test events that were required ahead of the new stadium opening for the Riders season-opener on July 1.

The first was the Regina Rams game on Oct. 1, which held 12,000 fans.

Similar to the football game, the concert for 25,000 people will test construction, operational plans and overall functionality of the facility.

However, this time, spectators will be using the upper concourse and be on the playing field. Food and beverage plans will also be tested for the first time.

“We see the concert as another way to fine tune our plans while we entertain guests with top-notch Canadian talent,” said Mark Allen, president and CEO of the Regina Exhibition Association.

Tickets for the concert go on sale April 8 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com and the Brandt Centre Box Office.

Prices range from $55 to $100, plus applicable fees.
