Prince Albert's bustling economy is creating more attention.

West Wind Aviation is taking a closer look at the opportunities in Prince Albert. The company has approached the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce about the idea of running a direct flight from Prince Albert to Regina.

A survey was then distributed amongst the chamber membership.

“There were tons of overwhelming responses. People were definitely interested in this package getting put together,” said Bergen Price, chamber CEO.

Price said the proposal could really help the business community.

“When you are doing business down in Regina, if you drive down, it basically takes you a whole day.

Now if you are able to fly from P.A. to Regina, it is basically a half hour down and a half hour back. It allows people in P.A. a lot more flexibility when doing business in Regina,” said Price.

A spokesperson for West Wind Aviation said no final decision has been made yet.

They said they are merely looking at potential opportunities and Prince Albert was mentioned.
Westwind Aviation currently operates a fleet of 21 aircraft. The company operates out of Saskatoon and Regina. They also have a satellite location in Northern Saskatchewan.
