Buckland residents told to boil their water

Oct 18, 2016 | 7:09 AM

Due to an advisory placed on water lines in the R.M. of Buckland, environmental officers at the Water Security Agency are notifying locals to boil their potable water.

The Prince Albert Rural Water Utility has issued a precautionary drinking water advisory for users who live in the Rural Municipality of Buckland.

On Monday, the City of Prince Albert experienced an issue with one of its water lines near Central Ave. and River St. E.

In order to fix the leak in the pipe, the water was shut off to the rural water utility and later turned back on.

Residents affected by the advisory are encouraged to boil their water for a minute before using it for drinking or washing dishes. Use of tap water for showering or laundry is considered fine.

Younger children and infants are to be sponge bathed.

There is no timeline offered as to how long the advisory will be in place, but Ken Danger, manager of the utility, was hoping to have test results back as early as Thursday.
