Guhle shuffles back from Buffalo

Oct 12, 2016 | 8:43 AM

The Raiders top defenseman is coming back to Prince Albert.

Brendan Guhle is returning from Buffalo after playing five preseason games with the Sabres. The 19-year-old came close to cracking the regular season roster, but the NHL team decided to send Guhle back to the Raiders after signing defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen to a six year contract worth over $32 million.

Guhle had 10 goals and 18 assists in 63 games with the Raiders last season, and added a goal and three assists in six games with the AHL’s Rochester Americans after the Raiders were eliminated from the 2016 WHL playoffs.

Guhle’s return means the Raiders have eight defensemen on a 25 man roster.
