Sask. Party financially ready for election

One provincial party isn't hurting at the bank.

With only months until the provincial election, the parties are beefing up their election war chests.

And in the past year, the Sask. Party has done just that.

In documents released this week by Elections Saskatchewan, the Sask. Party raised more than $3 million in 2010.

Executive director, Patrick Bundrock, said the money is being put to use in preparation.

“It goes to the election campaign, but it also goes offer strong services to our constituency associations, but more importantly it also helps us put the appropriate number of field staff (in place),” he said.

The party also spent heavily in 2010, dropping more than $700,000 on research activities.
