Health union to strike

May 6, 2011 | 2:07 PM

A Saskatchewan Health Care union has given 48-hour strike notice to their employers.

The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan represents about 3,000 members province-wide.

“This means job action involving our specialized health care professionals could begin as early as Sunday across the province,” said Cathy Dickson, union president during a press conference in Prince Albert.

“We want the people of Saskatchewan to know that we have done everything possible to avoid a strike … we have spent more than two years at the bargaining table, trying to convince health care employers to actually negotiate.”
