Saskatchewan French teachers reach tenative agreement on local contracts

May 6, 2011 | 6:35 AM

The French school board, Conseil Scolaire Fransaskois (CSF), and the teachers association, Association Locale des Enseignantes et Enseignants Fransaskois (ALEF), have reached a tentative local agreement.

Bernard Roy, CSF Director of Education, is feeling confident the proposal will be approved. He says “(the teachers) have to make a decision, and I think we will make progress this way.”

Roy isn't releasing the details of the agreement until it's ratified.

“Because we have an agreement in principle,” Roy explains, “the staff has to vote on this one to say 'yes we have something to agree on at this time.'”
