Meat cleaver robber no show for sentencing

Aug 25, 2016 | 6:41 PM

A bench warrant was issued today for a man who attempted to rob a Prince Albert downtown floral shop, using a meat cleaver.

Austin Fiddler, 19, was to be sentenced Thursday at Prince Albert Provincial Court, but he did not show up.

The robbery dates back to January 19, 2016.

After failing to open the cash register, Fiddler threatened to kill the shop clerk, and caused some damage to the store using the large knife.

He was caught by police soon after.
