Dragons slay Springboks on PA high school rugby pitch

Prince Albert’s Sask River Dragons prepared for Saturday’s Northern High School rugby championship tournament with Thursday night’s 19-10 victory over the Saskatoon Springboks at Prime Minister’s Park.

The Dragons opened up a 14-0 first half lead with try’s from Riley Dooley and Tristan Franc. Franc also scored the lone second half try for the home team on the Prince Albert pitch. Garrett Simpson rounded out the Dragons scoring with two converts.

The Prince Albert boys finished second in the Northern division with a 6-3 record, including two wins and one loss against the Springboks, their semi final opponent at Northerns.

The winner advances to Saturday’s final in Saskatoon.
