Sask. sex offender to be released on parole
A man convicted of sexual assault while working as a residential school supervisor is set to be released on parole.
Paul Leroux, 75, is serving a sentence of seven years, 10 months and 25 days after being found guilty on 10 counts of sexual abuse in 2013. The abuse happened when he was a dormitory supervisor at Beauval Residential School in the 1960s.
He has served a third of his sentence, making him eligible for parole.
Parole board spokesperson Patrick Storey said the board gave careful consideration to their decision, going over criminal histories, psychological assessments, sexual offender programming reports and victim statements, among others.
