RCMP seek suspect for attempted murder

A man from Red Earth Nation faces a variety of charges following a violent incident on the reserve over the weekend.

Sunday morning, April 24, a woman was found outside a residence in need of medical assistance. She was transported to Nipawin Hospital with life-threatening injuries before she was airlifted to a hospital in Saskatoon. 

An arrest warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Caleb Head.

He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possessing a weapon.

He also faces three breaches on a previous probation order.

Both Carrot River RCMP and the Band Council from the Red Earth First Nation encourage Head to turn himself in to the police.  

The public is also asked to contact the Carrot River RCMP or Crime Stoppers with information on Head’s whereabouts. 

RCMP have said the assault was not random; the victim and accused are known to each other.
