Late night fire at P.A. Travelodge

Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a late night fire at the Travelodge yesterday.

Kris Olsen, Battalion Chief said fire crews arrived at the structure fire on 3500 block of Second Ave. W. at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.

Olsen said everyone was out of the building when crews made entry to a main floor suite that was full of smoke. Crews discovered the fire was actually coming from the basement.

The last crew was relieved at around 2 a.m., when the fire was extinguished.

The incident is under investigation and Olsen said there are currently no indications on what caused the fire.

The Legacy bruncheon at the Travelodge that was to be held today, March 24, has been postponed. Prince Albert and District Chamber Of Commerce is looking at other dates for the event.
