By paNOW Staff:

The La Ronge Ice Wolves needed a win on home ice to get back into the ANAVET Cup final Tuesday night and win is what they did.

The Ice Wolves looked more like the team that won 42 games in the regular season with a 6-3 win over the Portage Terriers in Game 3 of the series between the Saskatchewan and Manitoba junior champs.

The home team got off to a quick start as Aaron Enns scored the first of his two goals at the 2:57 mark of the first period, however, Portage replied quickly on Brendan Harms’ 2nd goal of the series just over two minutes later.  Enns then scored his 2nd of the night and gave La Ronge a lead they would not give up at the 6:12 mark.

The Ice Wolves were bolstered by the return of Doug Lindensmith who has been in and out of the lineup with a concussion as he had four assists and gave La Ronge a much needed dose of energy as he served on the second line between Enns and Justin Ducharme who had a goal and three assists.

Other La Ronge goals came from Dayton Fossum, Travis Eggum and Nathan Boyer while Portage’s other two goals were scored by Riley Hay and Tyler Moore.

The pivotal 4th game will go in La Ronge Wednesday night with either the Ice Wolves having evened things at two or the Terriers one game away from a berth at the RBC Cup.
