Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) had to chase down a suspect on Friday, Feb. 26.

Police were first dispatched to the 1200 block of 28th St. E. on reports of a man with a knife trying to force his way into an apartment. The suspect fled, and allegedly demanded money from a man sitting in a vehicle. After flashing a handgun, he made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to PAPS the suspect found another man in the parking lot, and again showed his gun and demanded money. After not getting any cash, he fled on foot and ran into two people who were walking.

He threatened the two with his gun and then ran again.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident after PAPS ran after him in a foot chase.

The handgun was revealed to be a BB gun.

20-year-old Macy Yooya was charged with six counts of uttering threats, two counts of robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon and others.

He appeared at Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday Feb. 29.

He was remanded into custody and will appear in court Tuesday, Mar. 1 for show cause hearing.
