Prelim hearing set for Spalding fatal crash case

Feb 11, 2016 | 11:20 AM

The court case for Normand Lavoie was brought up Thursday morning, Feb. 11, at Melfort Provincial Court.

Lavoie was charged, following a fatal crash near Spalding last May, which claimed the lives of three teenage boys.

The case was adjourned to July 12 for a preliminary hearing, at which time, it will determined if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.

The high school students from Carrot River were on their way home from a football training camp, when they were stopped at a construction zone. While waiting, a semi heading north hit the car from behind.
