Residents at Good Shepherd Villas in Prince Albert got into the Christmas spirit this year.

The residents were encouraged to take part in a ‘Christmasize Your Door’ contest and have staff and family assist them with decorating and turning their door into a Christmas masterpieces.

Residents were given approximately three weeks to get as creative as they wished.

On Tuesday judges, Melanie Kawula, (advertising consultant of Power 99fm) , Christopher Monette (pharmacist of Phamasave/Rubicon Pharmacies),  and Santa, Mathew Chamberlain  (University of Regina Education Student) were invited to Good Shepherd Villas to pick out their favourite festively decorated door.

Staff at Good Shepherd Villas said it was important to the recreation department to have the doors judged prior to Christmas using fair criteria including: Creativity, Originality, Visual Impact, Craftmanship, and if the door captured ‘The Christmas Spirit’.

Once judging commenced four winners were selected:

  • 1st Place was awarded to Oscar & Betty Regnier of House 2
  • 2nd Place was awarded to Robert Fitzpatrick of House 2
  • 3rd Place was awarded to Rubena Wenzel of House 3
