KELOWNA, B.C. – Prime Minister Stephen Harper continues a swing through western Canada today, stopping in Regina to meet with Premier Brad Wall at the Saskatchewan legislature.

Harper joined B-C Premier Christy Clark on Thursday afternoon to meet crews who have been fighting an out of control wildfire near West Kelowna.

Both B-C and Saskatchewan have been ravaged by wildfires this year and Harper says he’s spoken with both premiers about improving how the blazes are fought.

Clark says she and Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall have both asked the federal government to support provinces fighting fires through an enhanced military presence and a national cache of technology.
