Icy runways affecting flights at Prince Albert Airport

Jan 15, 2015 | 12:07 PM

Flights at the Prince Albert Airport are being affected by icy runway conditions.

Because of the warmer weather on Wednesday and the sub-zero temperatures the runways are currently slippery.

Right now, the larger aircraft are unable to land, but some of the smaller aircraft are able to.

The airport staff tried to use all de-icing methods available – sweeping, sanding, laying down urea – but those failed to clear the ice.
