RCMP investigating a homicide northwest of Yorkton

One man is in RCMP custody after a woman was found dead in a home near Springside on Saturday morning

Details are still thin, but Mounties in Canora received the call to a home at about 9:30 a.m. near the community 26 km northwest of Yorkton.

RCMP Major Crimes out of Regina is helping the Canora detachment with the homicide of an adult woman. A man was arrested several hours later without incident.

Many different units and detachments are involved with the case, including Canora, Yorkton, Kamsack RCMP, Yorkton and Weyburn GIS, the Yorkton Forensic Identification Unit and dog services.

No names are being released at this time.
