SaskTel makes significant contribution to Melfort Habitat for Humanity

The Melfort Habitat for Humanity got a major boost from the SaskTel Pioneers on Wednesday.

The volunteer organization presented Habitat for Humanity with a $20,000 cheque. The funds will go towards the first Habitat construction project in Melfort.

Melfort Habitat volunteer co-ordinator Tanya Chester said in a statement that without donations like this one, the build wouldn’t be happening.

“The Pioneers gift allows us to continue engendering goodwill and a helping spirit into the community,” she said in the statement. “The Habitat for Humanity system takes resources like this and pays them forward so future builds can happen, ensuring that for the family who benefits it is more of a ‘hand up’ than a ‘hand out’.”
