Suspect drives truck into business during break-and-enter

Jun 11, 2014 | 5:10 PM

Just before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Prince Albert police responded to a break-and-enter of a business in 700-block of 15th Avenue East.

At the scene police found the front of the building was severely damaged and they were told by a witness that a truck had backed into the entrance. Police said the occupant of the truck then exited the vehicle and entered the store.

“Last night a four-by-four truck, he backed in and smashed the glass in the door and just came into the store and robbed the place,” said the owner of the business.

Several brands of cigarettes were stolen and the suspect fled the scene in the truck, which is believed to be a Chevrolet.

The store was closed at the time, but the owner said they received a call from the security company and the police were responding.

“They (the police) were here and they finger-printed stuff and checked the site and took some pictures,” he said.

At the request of the owner, the business name and name of the owner is being withheld.

The suspect is described as a man with a moustache and goatee who was wearing a hooded sweater and a hat at the time.

If anyone can identify the suspect in the photo, the police are asking them to call 306-953-42222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
