Rawlco Radio has announced three up and coming Saskatchewan artists who will be getting $10,000 to record, mix and master a full length album through the 10K20 project.

This spring the latest list of recipients includes: the Saskatoon rock band The Pistolwhips along with Regina’s Indigo Joseph and singer/songwriter Megan Nash from Moose Jaw.

The Pistolwhips are a Regina based indie rock band including singer/guitarist Rylan Schultz, bassist Zach Davies, drummer Christian Kongawi, and guitarist Paul Kuzbikthat. Visit their website here.

Indigo Joseph is also a four piece band that blends dance music with rock and folk. Visit their website here.

Megan Nash is a singer and songwriter with a powerful voice and lyrics that carry a strong prairie imagery. You might also recognize her as the artist from the Roughrider song 'Ride On.' Visit her website here.

In September of 2013 three other artists received money including Alex Runions from Regina, RationaL of Saskatoon and All Mighty Voice from Prince Albert.

The 10K20 project began in 2010 and runs until 2015. Each year 20 bands or individual recording artists are awarded money to complete an album. When the project is done next year, 80 different bands and musicians will have benefited from it. The purpose is to help provide Saskatchewan artists with the time and funding to do their best work.

Previous 10K20 recipients include Juno award winning Saskatoon band the Sheepdogs in 2011/2012. The same year the Regina band Rah Rah was also awarded $10,000 and this year they were nominated for a Juno for Alternative Album of the Year. Rising country singer Jess Moskaluke has also benefited from the grant program.

More artists will be announced this September and the program is still accepting applications which are available online.
