Moose Jaw Backstreet Boys concert sells out in under a minute

Some childhood dreams were crushed Friday, as tickets to the Backstreet Boys concert in Moose Jaw May 13 are now sold out.

They went on sale Friday morning but some 4,000 tickets sold out in less than a minute.

Doug Campbell with Mosaic Place says they knew the demand would be huge.

“Everything went into transition within the first 30 seconds,” explained Mosaic Place's Doug Campbell, who said on-line bookings and phone sales quickly ate up all the tickets that were available. Fans were also lined up outside the box office at 7 a.m.

The demand was so great Campbell is hoping the promoter will help put out more tickets.

“We're going to continue to work with Backstreet Boys' management on having some more tickets released for this show. So as many as we can work with them on releasing them, whether that's dozens or hundreds.”

“Anybody from the age, like, 22 to 30, this is their childhood dream all over again,” admitted Morgan Walchuck, who did not get tickets to the big show but has seen them perform in the past. “It was the most phenomenal experience ever.”
