Jim Toye has 25 years of experience working for municipal governments all over Saskatchewan, and this week he started in Prince Albert.
Toye said he is looking forward to representing Prince Albert as a city manager.

“I’m very excited and honored to be here,” said Toye.

Toye took over the seat of former city manager Robert Cotterill, on Monday night. When asked what he will do differently than the former manager, Toye said he won’t be making any major changes right away.

“I’m not going to do anything to quickly want to kind of gage what’s happening in the city and specifically with the city and see if there’s anything I can change if change is required,” said Toye.

Toye said the first thing he will do in his new position is take time to really listen to the residents of Prince Albert and get to know the city.

“First day, first week, I’m just trying to get to know the people at City Hall, “said Toye.

Next on his agenda, is the city council meeting next week. Before his first meeting, Toye wants to make sure he is up-to-date with important topics in the city.

“Making sure that I can lead an administration team that going to provide services to the residents of Prince Albert in a very effective and efficient manner,” said Toye.
