City issuing recycling guide to residents

The City of Prince Albert is reminding residents of what can – and what cannot – be put into the blue bins.

It is issuing a new recycling guide, which is already available online. Residents will receive a hard copy in their mailboxes between Jan. 8 to Jan. 10.

The city is asking residents to rinse food residue off of containers and put loose recyclables into the bins, not in plastic bags.

As for post-Christmas recyclables, gift wrap (paper) can go into the blue bin, provided it is non-foil wrap.

Earlier this year, the city expanded its recycling program to include aluminum cans and plastic containers.
