Schedule set for P.A. Winter Festival

Feb 1, 2011 | 5:50 AM

The schedule is set for the 47th annual Prince Albert Winter Festival.

The event begins Feb. 15, with the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Winter Festival, and will run until the end of the month.

Darrell Prokopie, the president of the festival, said while the event is a go, there is still a great need for volunteers.

“If you wish to come and help one day, two days, three days, lend your expertise, lend your time, we can certainly find something for you to do,” said Prokopie.

For a while, it was up in the air as to whether the festival would be cancelled this year or not. Prokopie said he’s pleased it didn’t come to that.

“It’s nice that things are going. It’d be nice to have a few more bodies in place, but it will happen, and when it’s all said and done, I think we’ll look back and say it was a good move,” said Prokopie.

Here is a list of some of the activities planned:

Feb. 15: Crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Winter Festival
