Suspect in PA’s first homicide of 2013 out on bail

A man accused of second-degree murder in the September killing of 25-year-old Davis David Broussie is out on bail.

Charles Adam Stewart, 23, was released from custody on Tuesday at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert.

On Sept. 9, Broussie, of Black Lake, Sask., was found unconscious in a Subway Restaurant parking lot in the 200-block 15th Street West.

The Prince Albert police said the attack leading up to this was not random. Police also indicated that he was stabbed.

Broussie was taken to Victoria Hospital and later pronounced dead. However, the stabbing is not necessarily the cause of death, according to Prince Albert police.

Later that week, police executed a search warrant at a West Flat home in Prince Albert. Police arrested Stewart as a result.

Stewart was in the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Prince Albert on Thursday with members of his family.

His next court appearance will be at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Prince Albert on Nov. 25.
