Men in dangling semi rescued after driver loses control

Two men in a semi truck were rescued from the vehicle and taken to hospital after they lost control and went over the Highway 16 overpass near North Battleford.

RCMP were called around 4 a.m. to the single-vehicle rollover on the west side of the bypass.

The semi, which was heading eastbound on Highway 16 toward North Battleford, went over the right side of the overpass. The driver and passenger were trapped inside and hanging over the edge of the railing.

“It was over in a very precarious position. The driver and passenger were fortunate that the truck didn’t go all the way over,” Sgt. Darcy Woolfitt said.
