Teen girl in custody after police pursuit

A 14-year-old girl is facing numerous charges after the Prince Albert Police Service took her into custody after an early morning pursuit on Friday.

She faces numerous charges including theft of a vehicle, and failure to stop for police after she was caught.

At around 2 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle was stolen from a residence on the west side of the city.

Patrol members would spot the suspect vehicle shortly after, but when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off.

A pursuit would take police from the west side of the city to the east side, ending when a tire deflation device was used on the stolen vehicle.

She made her first appearance at the Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday morning and was released on an undertaking. Her next court appearance is set for Nov. 15.
