Man charged with attempted murder gets bail

A man facing an attempted murder charge in relation to a stabbing in Prince Albert on Sept. 18 has been granted bail.

Kyle Boychuk, 44, was released on Monday and will have to abide by certain conditions including that he reside at his parents’ house in an area of Manitoba north of Winnipeg.

He will have to report there by Oct. 11 and then subsequently check in with the RCMP on a weekly basis. He will also have a curfew, be prohibited from consuming or possessing alcohol and illegal drugs and not possess any weapons.

Boychuk also agreed to turn himself to RCMP seven days before his trial or preliminary trial begins, so that he can be transported back to Prince Albert.
